Trixilini Supports Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF) on a Charity Drive

Hey ladies, as part of the international breast cancer awareness month, the Breast Cancer Foundation is throwing a charity event this Friday, 1 October, at the Ion Orchard Premiere!



Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF) is a non-profit charity organisation, established in October 1997. Under the leadership of its Patron, Mayor (Mrs) Yu-Foo Yee Shoon and her dedicated, enthusiastic executive committee, BCF’s mission is to:

Eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease.

BCF hopes that by raising awareness of breast cancer and encouraging women to screen themselves regularly, breast cancer will be detected earlier and the chances of surviving the disease will be greatly enhanced.

A meaningful cause as this warrants our support, ladies!

Hosted by Stephanie Carrington, the event starts at 6pm with an ongoing on-the-spot make-over by Bobbi Brown. There is also a live demonstration at 6.30pm for you ladies who wish to pick up a tip or two on make-up.

Did we mention there'd be candies and cookies, music CDs and BCF pins for sale too? All proceeds go to a good cause! You'll be doing something nice! See ya there!

Grand Prix Has Wrapped Up!

Ladies, the biggest and most spectacular event of the year is, sadly, over... But can we just say we had such a blast!

Ferrari racer, Fernando Alonso, bagged the championship last night with a timing of 1:58:53.579! Following closely behind was Sebastian Vettel (for Red Bull) at just 0.2 seconds later! The second-runner position went to Mark Webber (also for Red Bull).

Alonso, who has been quoted saying "I love this track. It seems to suit my driving style!", sees his fourth victory of the season, matching the tally of World Championship leader Mark Webber. It wasn't all smiles for 2009 winner, Lewis Hamilton, however, who was involved in the most controversial moment of a thrilling race when Webber made contact with him in Turn 5, ending his race!

Also dramatic, was a twist that took place in the closing laps when Heikki Kovalainen’s Lotus came on to the main straight with the back of the car in flames. The Finn showed great sang-froid, however, to stop, get out, accept a fire extinguisher from a nearby marshal, and dousing the fire himself.

Song diva, Mariah Carey, who also invited a couple of guest performers to her show, closed the Grand Prix by entertaining everyone with her tunes that made it necessary to groove.

Traffic was surprisingly smooth over the weekend! Thank you for zipping down to Trixilini amidst the anticipated more-than-usual town-crowd this period, and great job to those of you who managed to nab last pieces from Yumi Kim!

Yes, we know it was a tad insane last year this time when roads were shut for the F1. Fret not, for this year, roads will only be blocked from midnight 22 September, to 5am on 28 September, Tuesday.

Flagging Down a Cab?
Enjoy unrestricted access within the Marina Bay area except during race times and morning peak hours (5 - 9.30am) unless they're on-call.

Taking Your Own Set of Wheels?
Avoid Raffles Boulevard and take the ECP and exit at Rochor instead; parking your ride at Pontiac (where Millenia is) is also a breeze. Blocked roads are accessible on 27 September, Monday, between 6 - 9.30am and 5 - 8.30pm.

Hopping Onto the Train?
You ladies already know Promenade MRT Station on the Circle Line services Millenia Walk where we're located. There'll also be 370 additional train trips this period so don't worry about not being to hop on.
